Collecting Your Dog's Undercoat Hair Fibers to Make into Yarn

Start by collecting yours or a friends dogs' undercoat, Fiber in the Spring Season as she/he begins the shedding process.

Process:
1st step:   Wash the dog clean all over.

    2nd step:
When dog is dry all the way through....

    3rd step:
Over the next week brush out the clean under coat shedding out(That "wool" like hair coming up through the guard hairs-you can pluck out with your fingers.)

    4th step:
Save fiber collected in a basket or paper bag.  (not wet, or felted.)  Need about, at least 3 ounces saved to combine with sheep wool to make into enough yarn to make a warm wool hat.

    5th step:
Find Hand spinner or Do yourself by blending wool(fiber) and the dog: (clean undercoat) together and spin into finished Yarn.

(I charge $7.00 per ounce finished yarn, with dog50%+sheep50% mixed.  503-537-0733 Please leave a message with contact info.)  Thank you.
